Hello
Fauna and flora
A natural setting, between lagoons and scrubland
The Bois des Aresquiers, a vast protected area, stretches between the salt waters of the lagoons and the dense Mediterranean pine forest, forming a mosaic of natural environments: from the lagoon to the salt meadows (sansouires), passing through areas of steppe and garrigue. The gradual transition of vegetation reveals striking panoramas – like an impenetrable "virgin forest" in some areas.
This balance between land, water, and vegetation makes this environment a reservoir of biodiversity where the flora is particularly rich.
Fascinating aerial wildlife
The site is ideal for birdwatching: flamingos, little egrets, herons, shelducks, stilts, and even storks gravitate around the lagoons and the edge of the woods.
The melodious song of the cicadas resonates in summer, reinforced by the resinous scent of the pines, in this natural setting protected by the Conservatoire du littoral.
A vineyard nestled in an oasis of nature
Domaine du Mas Rouge is located in the heart of this remarkable site, less than a kilometer from the sea, between Sète and Montpellier. Protected from the sea winds by the Bois des Aresquiers and from the Mistral wind by the Gardiole hills, this vineyard benefits from moderate rainfall, generous sunshine, and an exceptional natural setting.
The surrounding flora, a mix of pine forests, scrubland, oaks, thyme, and rosemary, is an integral part of the sensual character of this place. As for the fauna, it follows the same contours: flamingos, black-headed gulls, and grey herons blend into the vineyard scene, adding a touch of grace and wildlife to the vineyard.
A living and harmonious nature
Beyond the iconic birds, the vineyard and its surroundings invite you to a gentle immersion between humanity and nature. The vines are nestled in a preserved Mediterranean landscape, between sea, ponds, woods and scrubland, creating a rare osmosis
